World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.
Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specific amount.
Item Level
When an item gets upgraded, its base stats are increased in value. The value is the sum of all of its upgraded advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be costly, depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.
It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is limited to an lower level). The average level of an item is listed on the character sheet.
The level of an item can help players compare the potency of gear when choosing to buy or sell. It's an indicator of the item's damage and its quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor can be done using the item level.
On upgrade item Casesgg , you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are various theories on how the calculation of the item's level is carried out. One theory is that the level is a number that comes from a formula that determines the amount an item's stats are worth. It considers that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in the sockets increase the item's value. This can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's real level of the item.
However, this isn't the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, because the level of the region the item dropped in can change the value of its stats, such as by adding a level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances.
Item Stats
The stats of an item can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game utilizes them in many ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon, and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves increased by the player's skill.
Upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item for instance, can only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with more expensive costs.
Another method of altering the stats on an item is by affixing it. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an exclusive name to the item.
All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.
Players can choose to upgrade an item to specific stats, or reroll affixes. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However each item will have at least one stat in the range, unless they are an exclusive item, or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could be changed by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or choosing which stats to boost. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item basis, and the item compare interface wouldn't show all possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items, the properties that are spawned by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial in early game runs since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each level and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor and weapons come with a default Luck value of 40. These items can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant a further +40 Luck or to increase the luck of the item up to 140.
Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that is able to deal damage by 5percent. These items can be purchased from the shop or constructed using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much the success rates can be improved and the chance of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%.
The success of an upgrade is also affected by the luck of that item. All items have a success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.
Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
